Heavy Rain, Gusty Winds Headed To Yonkers
Rain is headed into the Hudson Valley region Friday, but have no fear, the sun will reappear for the July 4th weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
According to forecasters, severe, but isolated, thunderstorms could arrive Friday morning and last through Friday night.
Wind gusts could reach 60 mph, the weather service said.
On Saturday and Sunday, however, the skies will be bright and the temperatures could reach the low 80s.
Independence Day will also be sunny, forecasters say.
The temps for holiday picnics and parades will also hang around the low 80s.

Patricia Lee-Rubino, Longtime North Salem Court Clerk, 55
NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Patricia Lee-Rubino, a Danbury, Conn., resident and former North Salem court clerk, died Tuesday, June 21, after a long battle with cancer. She was 55.
Lee-Rubino, known as “Trish,” was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2007.
She started working as a court clerk for the town in 2006, but was let go in late December, just five months shy of being able to qualify for early retirement and retiree insurance. To read more about this in the North Salem Daily Voice, click here.

Police Seek Man Wanted In Wappinger Check-Cashing Scheme
WAPPINGER, N.Y. -- State police are looking for a man wanted in a 2013 check-cashing scheme.
Paul L. Nikola, 27, whose last known address was in Smallwood, a hamlet in Sullivan County, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny this spring, police from Troop K said.
A warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to show up in court to answer the charges, police said.
The scam took place in Wappinger and Beacon, police said.
Nikola is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.
