She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Woman Found Dead In Wooded Area Off Hudson Valley Roadway Detectives are investigating after a woman's body was found in a wooded area off of a Hudson Valley highway. The incident took place in Ulster County on Tuesday, Nov. 29, off Route 28 in the town of Olive. Deputies responded to the area after a passerby reported seeing a person lying in a wooded area off of Route 28, said the Ulster County Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded and located the woman who was dead. Fire Breaks Out At Multi-Family Home In Norwalk Nine people were left homeless following a fire that destroyed a multi-family residence in Fairfield County. The fire took place in Norwalk around 10:10 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 43 Lexington Ave. The fire started in the bedroom of the home and quickly spread to floors above, said Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Steve Shay. There were nine occupants at home at the time of the fire and all escaped without injury, Shay said. "However, all of their belongings were destroyed," Shay said. Man Found Dead In Great South Bay Investigators are asking for information after a man was found dead in the Great South Bay. The unidentified man was found in the waters off of Grass Island around 2:40 pm., Tuesday, Nov. 29. Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives say the man, who was found floating in a foot of water, had died of an apparent drowning death. The man was found unresponsive after the department received a 911 call, police said. He was pronounced dead after being pulled from the water, officials added. 70-Year-Old Faces Assault Charge After Crash Injuring Officer In Elmont A Long Island man has been arrested after allegedly striking a police vehicle and then fleeing the scene. The incident took place in Elmont around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28. According to Nassau County officers, John Sferlazza, age 70, Elmont, was driving a 2004 Honda when he sideswipe the driver’s side of a Radio Motor Patrol vehicle causing damage and physical injury to the officer operating the vehicle. Person Injured After Cement Mixer Falls Through Parking Lot Deck In Danbury A cement truck driver was injured after his vehicle fell through a parking deck in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Danbury around 11:45 a.m., Monday, Nov. 28 on Crosby Street. The Danbury Fire Department responded to reports of a cement truck that had fallen through a parking deck. The incident took place in New Haven County on Sunday, Oct. 30 around 1:15 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 30 on Highland Avenue in Waterbury. Man Accused Of Threatening Shooting At Bank In Hudson Valley An irate Hudson Valley customer was arrested for allegedly threatening to come back and shoot up the bank. 19-Year-Old Killed In Chain-Reaction Lynbrook Crash A 19-year-old was killed during a chain reaction crash on Long Island. The crash took place in Lynbrook around midnight Tuesday, Nov. 29, on Ocean Avenue.
