New Rochelle Man Sentenced For Sexually Abusing 11-Year-Old Causing Pregnancy A man has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl, causing a pregnancy. New Rochelle resident Braulio Ramirez, age 49, was sentenced to 17 years in state prison, with 20 years of post-release supervision, on Tuesday, Sept. 13. CT Man Found Dead In Crashed Car From Gunshot Wound, Police Say A Connecticut man died after he was shot while driving a car and crashed. The incident took place in Hartford around 1 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13 on Hillside Avenue. The victim, identified as Jose Arriaga, age 28, of Hartford, was discovered when officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert, said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police. A report of a crash near 386 Hillside Avenue came in while officers were responding, Boisvert said. Once on the scene, officers found Arriaga in the crashed vehicle. Mix Up Of School Bus Schedules Causes Scare On Long Island, Police Say A mix-up of school bus schedules on Long Island caused a scare when a strange driver and school bus attempted to pick up students. The incident took place in Ronkonkoma around 7:15 a.m., Monday, Sept. 12 on Baeck Street, said the Suffolk County Police. Woman Nabbed For Leaving Infant In Car At Long Island Walmart, Police Say A woman was arrested on Long Island after allegedly leaving her 4-month-old child in a car for more than an hour as she shopped in a Walmart. Treisha Clarke, age 41, of Queens, was arrested around 5:25 p.m., Monday, Sept. 12, in Valley Stream. The infant was found around 4:20 p.m. when Nassau County Police received a call from a witness who spotted the child inside a parked vehicle at the Walmart on Green Acres Road West, police said. Police Look To ID Person Who Entered Girl’s Bedroom At CT Home Police are asking the public for help identifying a person who allegedly entered the room of a young girl at a home in Connecticut during the early morning hours. The incident took place in Hartford County around 4:40 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 10 in Bristol on Ivy Drive. According to Lt. Man Killed After Being Ejected From SUV In Head-On Crash In Region A man from the region was killed after being ejected from his SUV while passing another vehicle and hitting it head-on. The crash happened at 1:45 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10 on Route 97 in the town of Highland in Sullivan County. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police, Sullivan County resident Jeffrey F. Dog Rescued After House Fire Breaks Out In Norwalk A dog was rescued and rushed to a veterinarian clinic after being rescued from a Fairfield County apartment fire. The crash took place in Hartford County around 9:50 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 10 in Bristol on Jerome Avenue.
