She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

25-Year-Old Killed In Single-Vehicle Hudson Valley Crash Police are searching for witnesses after a man was killed in a single-vehicle Hudson Valley crash. The crash took place in Orange County around 6:45 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 11 on Colonial Avenue in the village of Warwick. "It's believed the accident had occurred several hours earlier," said Chief John Rader, of the Warwick Police. A 25-year-old Monroe man was the victim of the motorcycle crash, Rader said. Police Searching For Suspects In Long Island Home Burglary Police are searching for suspects who broke into a Long Island home, ransacked the home, and stole items. The incident took place in Woodbury around 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10. According to Nassau County Police detectives, the victim left his Chauncey Place home from Saturday, Sept. 10 to Sunday, Sept. 11, and when he returned he found the rear sliding glass door was wide open and the house was ransacked by an unknown person. Suspect At Large After Man Walking Outside North Amityville Home Injured In Drive-By Shooting Police on Long Island are searching for a suspect after a man was shot in a drive-by shooting while walking toward his car. The incident took place in North Amityville on Sunday, Sept. 11 on Glenmalure Street. According to Suffolk County Police, a 34-year-old man was walking outside of a Glenmalure Street home toward a 2020 Honda Accord when someone fired two shots out of the window of a white sedan. Norwalk Police Officer Attacked, Beaten At Annual Festival A Fairfield County police officer suffered a broken arm and head injury after being attacked by two men at an annual community festival. The incident occurred in Norwalk around 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Oyster Festival. According to Lt. Terrence Blake, of the Norwalk Police, officers working the event were notified of a fight between juveniles near the Kids Cove. Officers responded to the area and broke up two separate fights. Hudson Valley Woman Driving Drunk Crashes Into House, Police Say A Hudson Valley woman was arrested after allegedly running off a roadway, hitting a utility pole and then a house while driving under the influence. Man Accused Of Stealing Blank Checks From Mailbox In Westport, Then Depositing $24K Police have accused a man for allegedly stealing a box of blank checks in Fairfield County and writing a check to himself for more than $24,000. The incident took place in Westport on Tuesday, Jan. 11, when police officers responded to a home on Northgate Lane regarding stolen mail. Don't Fall For It: Scammers In Area Pretending To Be 'Sergeant Jason Cooke,' Authorities Say Authorities are warning residents in the region of a new phone scam from a person pretending to be a deputy. Putnam County Sheriff Kevin McConville said in the last couple of days, several county residents have reported receiving phone calls from a man impersonating a member of the Sheriff’s Office. Woman Accused Of Stealing Catalytic Converters Valued At $12.5K From CT Business A Connecticut woman was arrested for allegedly taking part in the theft of $12,5000 worth of catalytic converters from company vehicles of a business. Middlesex County resident Yamil Burgos, age 26, of Middletown, was arrested in New Haven County on Tuesday, Sept. 6, for the Wednesday, Aug. 24 incident in Milford. Smoke Shop In Yonkers Ordered To Close Due To Violations A smoke shop in Westchester County has been closed down due to various violations. The Stationary & Convenient Store -- in Yonkers at 998 McLean Ave. was closed on Thursday, Sept. 8. An investigation was launched by the Yonkers police, fire, and building departments after they received complaints from local residents, said Det. Lt. Dean Politopoulos, of the Yonkers Police. The investigation found the store did not have a license to sell tobacco or a certificate of occupancy. There were also fire code violations, Politopoulos said. No word if the store will reopen.

Man Sentenced For New Rochelle Home Burglary A 23-year-old man has been sentenced for a home burglary in Westchester County. Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah announced that Queens resident Kevin Rojo-Rojo, age 23, was sentenced on Wednesday, Sept. 7, to eight years in state prison for a 2021 New Rochelle home burglary. His sentence will run concurrent to a nine-year prison sentence he received in June 2022 in Nassau County Court for five residential burglaries that took place between January and April 2021.
