Cadets From Bethel High's Navy Reserve Heading For Leadership Training BETHEL, Conn. -- The Bethel High School's nationally recognized NJROTC (Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps) unit has sent four cadets and two cadet aides to the NJROTC Leadership Academy at the Naval Station in Newport, R.I. This academy consists of two weeks of physical training, training in drill, academics in the classroom and sailing training. Danbury Girl Scout Earns Gold Award For Making Trail Map Kiosks At Richter DANBURY, Conn. -- Madeleine Cox of Danbury has earned the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting. To earn her Gold Award, Cox completed her project, “Trail Map Kiosks at Richter Park,” to help her community navigate hiking trails and other locations at a Richter Park in Danbury. Trumbull Girl Scout Earns Gold Award For Encouraging Kids To Exercise TRUMBULL, Conn. — Lahari Kota of Trumbull has earned the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting.To earn her Gold Award, Kota began teaching dance lessons at her local elementary school after noticing that children weren’t inclined to physical activity. Brookfield Runners Step Lively For Fun Workouts At Ladies Night BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- A group of athletes could be found stretching, bending and working up a sweat on a recent night at Woodbridge Running Company's Ladies Night in Brookfield. Make-a-wish Celebrates Rose' On The Rooftop Launch In Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. -- Rose’ on the Rooftop, a launch event for the Make-A-Wish Connecticut Celebrating Wishes Ball, took place last month on the rooftop deck at the Samuel Owen Gallery in Greenwich. Westport Receives $440K State Grant To Improve Saugatuck Station Area WESTPORT, Conn. -- The State of Connecticut is awarding Westport a grant of $440,000 to improve the Saugatuck Station area.The Westport grant will go toward an existing conditions analysis, public outreach, district planning, identification of partnerships and preliminary design of the Saugatuck Station Area.
