Dannel Malloy aimed at closing a $922 million budget deficit would make deep cuts in state aid to local school districts. Under the Malloy plan, full funding would be maintained in Bridgeport, Danbury, Norwalk and Stamford. Bridgeport Native Serves In Navy Aboard USS Porter BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Nathan Paulo, from Bridgeport, is serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Porter in the Mediterranean Sea.  Paulo is shown firing a shot line to the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Kanawha during an underway replenishment aboard USS Porter on April 6.  The USS Porter is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer. It is forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, and is conducting a routine patrol in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.
