Receive 'Certificate Of Excellence' STRATFORD, Conn. -- In a recent ceremony, Bridgeport Hospital recognized two Stratford EMS crews and some Stratford Fire Department members with “Certificates of Excellence” for their performance on two calls.The ceremony was conducted during EMS week. Leigh Goodman, a paramedic, and her partner Wendi Lawless, an EMT, were recognized for responding to a call at which a 46-year-old male suffered from severe burns to his airway. Shoppers At Opening Of Chic Jack’s Support Stamford Boys & Girls Club Camp STAMFORD, Conn. -- After 40 years in New York City, Chic Jack’s Vintage Clothing Store launched a new location in Stamford with a cause -- to support local kids in need of summer camp scholarships. A total of 20 percent of the proceeds from the launch event were donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, with $2,400 raised in total to support 24 weeks of summer camp.  A total of $2,000 was raised with a Giving Tree, which allowed shoppers to select and support individual children by name.  Nearly 100 people came out to support Chic Jack’s cause at the opening and the Boys & Girls…

Danbury High Girls Tennis Team Honored With Fciac Sportsmanship Award DANBURY, Conn. -- The Danbury High School girls tennis team was awarded the FCIAC's Ed Bernstein Memorial Award for Outstanding Sportsmanship. The team, which also won this award in 2013, is coached by Kelly Macey. FCIAC, the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference, was established in 1961 and is made up of high schools throughout Fairfield County.
