She has a bachelor's degree in English from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in publishing from Pace University. She married with four teenage children and is a competitive runner and avid exerciser.

Danbury's AIS School Celebrates Tenth Anniversary With Culture Festival DANBURY, Conn. -- Western Connecticut Academy of International Studies -- a magnet elementary school in Danbury -- celebrated its tenth year since opening its doors with a festival Friday that embraced more than a dozen cultures. Set up as a street fair, there were colorful tables and flags from many countries including Guatemala, Italy, Canada, Iceland and Spain. Newtown Chamber, Rotary Club Announce Business Of The Year Honorees NEWTOWN, Conn. -- The Newtown Chamber of Commerce and Newtown Rotary Club recently announced the 2016 Newtown Business of the Year honorees. While all nominees were given honorable mention, the top three nominees in each category were highlighted at an awards dinner and ceremony March 28 at the Newtown Country Club. Shelton Democrats Nominate Adam Heller For 113th District SHELTON, Conn. -- Shelton Democrats unanimously nominated Adam Heller to be the Democratic nominee for state representative for the House of Representative’s 113th District. Westport EMS Members Receive President's Volunteer Service Award WESTPORT, Conn. -- Twenty-two members of the Westport Volunteer Emergency Medical Service were presented with the President’s Volunteer Service Award at Westport Police EMS Headquarters.The awards recognize outstanding contributions in community service to the United States. Volunteers Come Together For Mitzvah Day At Ridgefield Congregation RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Congregation Shir Shalom of Westchester and Fairfield Counties’ First Annual Shir Shalom Mitzvah Day was held recently in Ridgefield.Throughout this day, more than 150 volunteers reached out to help a variety of groups and connected with each other along the way. Volunteers worked on-site and off-site in Fairfield County and Westchester County on various projects such as collecting food for food pantries, washing and detailing a mini-bus; and baking cookies for clients of the local soup kitchen.
