Sandra Diamond Fox has been a journalist since 2005, working for The News-Times and The Redding Pilot prior to coming to the Daily Voice. She has a bachelor's degree in English from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in publishing from Pace University. She married with four teenage children and is a competitive runner and avid exerciser.

Stratford EMS, Fire Department Conduct Training Exercises In Extricating STRATFORD, CONN. -- Stratford Emergency Medical Services and the Stratford Fire Department are conducting joint training exercises in extricating people during motor vehicle accidents.This training will help the groups practice their roles and skills during these complicated events and build teamwork and camaraderie between the two departments. The training simulates several different scenarios, including rollover, patients who are pinned or crushed and more.

Beautification League Installs Hanging Baskets Around Downtown New Canaan NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Twenty-seven members of the New Canaan Beautification League gathered together May 11 at the home of Libby Butterworth to assemble the 207 hanging baskets now adorning lampposts throughout downtown New Canaan. This year’s baskets contain pink dragon-wing begonias, white petunias and a new variety this year -- the petchoa. The petchoa is a hybrid cross between a petunia and a calibrachoa and exhibits the best features of both flowers. Parking Ban, Road Closures Take Place During Shelton Memorial Day Parade SHELTON, Conn. -- There will be a parking ban and road closures in connection with the Shelton/Derby Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30. The parking ban along the parade route goes into effect at 6 a.m. and will stay in effect until the parade is over (around noon).
