Rockland Resident Beat Man With Motorcycle Helmet, Police Say
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- A Blauvelt resident is facing assault and other charges after he used several objects, including a motorcycle helmet and a paint roller, to batter another man, Orangetown police said.
Jonathan Stefos, 31, was arrested late last month after police responded to a 911 call at a residence in the hamlet.
According to police, Stefos beat the unnamed victim with a metal stand, a broom, a motorcycle helmet and a paint roller, leaving him covered with cuts and bruises.
When the man tried to call for help, Stefos knocked his cell phone out of his hand, police said.

Shelton Man Caught In The Act Charged In Restaurant Break-In
SHELTON, Conn. -- A Shelton man is facing burglary charges after police said they caught him at the scene of a restaurant break-in.
Alexis Sanchez, 23, was arrested Thursday, July 7, near Bricks and Barley, an eatery located at 441 Howe Ave.
Police patrolling the area responded to an alarm there around 2:30 a.m. and found that the rear door had been kicked in, police said.
Cash had been taken from the office, police said.
Sanchez was spotted fleeing from the scene and arrested after a brief foot chase, police said.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Thousands of fans had fun, fun, fun in White Plains Wednesday night as the quintessential sun and surf band, The Beach Boys, rocked the Westchester County Center.
John Stamos, best known for his role as Uncle Jesse Katsopolis on “Full House,” took the stage with the California crooners.
He has been an unofficial member of the band since 1985.
Among the classic songs they performed were: “Surfin’ USA,” “Kokomo” and “Good Vibrations.”

Rockland Man Used Shovel During Fight, Police Say
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- An Orangeburg man is facing assault charges after he allegedly whacked another man with a shovel during a fight in June, Orangetown police said.
Tyron Turner, 40, was arrested on Wednesday, June 29, in front of an auto parts store on Route 340 after a passerby called police to report a fight in progress.
Turner was holding the shovel, but dropped it when ordered to by the arresting officers, police said.
He has been charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing.
