22-Year-Old Driving Drunk Crashes Into Tree In Hudson Valley, Police Say A 22-year-old area man is in serious condition after losing control of his car and crashing into a tree while allegedly driving drunk. The incident occurred in Ulster County around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22 in Saugerties on the Glasco Turnpike. Investigating officers established that Brandon G Norton of Shokan was driving a 1998 Honda Civic when he failed to negotiate a crest on the roadway due to excessive speed, said Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra. Road Rage: Woman Beats Man's Car With Bat, Steals Cell Phone In Hudson Valley, Police Say A 30-year-old Hudson Valley woman was arrested following an alleged road rage incident in which she beat a man's car with a bat and then stole his cell phone as he tried to call the police, authorities said. The incident took place in Rockland County around noontime Sunday, Jan. 22 in Ramapo. Man Fires Gun At Teen After Catching Him In His Car In New Haven, Police Say A New Haven man who works as a school security guard has been arrested for allegedly firing a gun at a 14-year-old after catching two juveniles in his vehicle. The incident took place in New Haven around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22 on Hallock Avenue. 30 Catalytic Converters Stolen From East Hartford School Buses More than 30 catalytic converters were stolen from school buses from two businesses in East Hartford. The converters were stolen between Friday, Jan. 20, and Monday, Jan. 23 from First Student at 68 Alna Lane and Autumn Transportation at 52 Oakland Ave. in East Hartford. According to East Hartford Police Officer Marc Caruso, the two business reported the thefts of the catalytic converters from their lots. Mother Sneaks Into Hudson Valley HS Dressed As Student To Watch Daughter Fight, Police Say The mother of a high school student in the region has been arrested for allegedly sneaking into the school dressed as a student so she could watch her daughter fight with another student. Nearly A Dozen Displaced, 2 Pets Killed In Hudson Valley House Fire Nearly a dozen residents were displaced and two pets were killed during a fire at a Hudson Valley home. The fire took place in Dutchess County the city of Poughkeepsie around 1:20 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 22 at 372 Mansion St. First arriving fire units found heavy fire in the rear of the building on the first and second floors, said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Joseph Franco. 24-Year-Old Suspect Nabbed For Norwalk Shooting, Police Say A Bridgeport man has been charged with the shooting of another man in Norwalk months after the incident took place. Norwalk Police arrested Samuel Branch, age 24, on a fugitive warrant along with the US Marshals on Wednesday, Jan. 18 in Bridgeport.
