Black Bear That Attacked 10-Year-Old CT Boy Tested For Rabies A bear that attacked a 10-year-old Connecticut boy has been tested for rabies as a precaution. Woman Crossing Montauk Highway Struck By Land Rover In Shirley, Police Say A woman was struck and injured while crossing a busy Long Island highway. The incident took place in Shirley around 9:50 p.m., Monday, Oct. 17 on the Montauk Highway and Aletta Place. According to Suffolk County Police, a 56-year-old woman was crossing the roadway against the traffic light at the intersection of Montauk Highway and Aletta Place when she was struck by a 2005 Landrover. Bridgeport College Rental Burglary Suspect Nabbed A burglary suspect who has been targeting Fairfield County college students breaking into off-campus rental properties has been arrested. Rajiv Holness, age, 23, of Bridgeport, was nabbed by Bridgeport Police on Monday, Oct. 17 following a months-long investigation. Over the past several months, the Bridgeport North End homes, specifically Sacred Heart University off-campus rental properties, were plagued with a rash of residential burglaries, said Det.
