Car Hauler Collides With Train In Hudson Valley A car hauler was hit by a train in the Hudson Valley after the driver pulled onto one of the tracks, authorities said. Black Bear That Attacked 10-Year-Old CT Boy Tested For Rabies A bear that attacked a 10-year-old Connecticut boy has been tested for rabies as a precaution. The bear attacked the boy in Litchfield County on Sunday, Oct. 16, in his grandparent's yard in Morris. Following the attack, which left the boy with non-life-threatening injuries including claw marks on his back and injuries to his leg, was euthanized shortly after the attack. Roosevelt Man Accused Of Driving Drunk With Kids In Car After Crash Injuring Woman In Baldwin A Long Island man has been charged with alleged aggravated DWI with children in the car.  Anthony Bolasingh, age 31, of Roosevelt, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18 in Baldwin. According to Nassau County police, officers responded to a 911 call for an auto accident in  Arriving officers found that Bolasingh was driving a 1999 BMW 540 when he struck a 2018 Toyota Prius driven by a 44- year-old male and then collided with a pole, police said. Woman Crossing Montauk Highway Struck By Land Rover In Shirley, Police Say A woman was struck and injured while crossing a busy Long Island highway. The incident took place in Shirley around 9:50 p.m., Monday, Oct. 17 on the Montauk Highway and Aletta Place. According to Suffolk County Police, a 56-year-old woman was crossing the roadway against the traffic light at the intersection of Montauk Highway and Aletta Place when she was struck by a 2005 Landrover. The woman was transported to the hospital in Patchogue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Bridgeport College Rental Burglary Suspect Nabbed A burglary suspect who has been targeting Fairfield County college students breaking into off-campus rental properties has been arrested. Rajiv Holness, age, 23, of Bridgeport, was nabbed by Bridgeport Police on Monday, Oct. 17 following a months-long investigation. Over the past several months, the Bridgeport North End homes, specifically Sacred Heart University off-campus rental properties, were plagued with a rash of residential burglaries, said Det. 19-Year-Old Killed In 2-Vehicle CT Crash A 19-year-old Connecticut resident was killed in an early morning two-vehicle crash.
