Hudson Valley Man Commits Suicide As Officers Attempt To Stop Him, Police Say A Hudson Valley man shot himself in the head while state police worked to prevent him from doing so. The incident took place in Orange County around 3:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the town of Mount Hope. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, Orange County 911 dispatched the state police and the Town of Mount Hope Police for a reported potential suicide.  The caller said they heard a gun go off and believed that a man had shot himself, Nevel said. Man Killed In 3-Vehicle Crash On CT Roadway A Connecticut man was killed during a serious three-car crash. The crash took place in New Haven County around 8:45 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 1 in North Branford in the area of Forest Road. According to the North Branford Police, officers responded to the area of Forest Road (Route 22) near Gulf Brook Drive for the report of a serious motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers located a three-car accident. Bones Found On Hiking Trail In Hudson Valley, Police Say An investigation was conducted after bones were discovered on a Hudson Valley hiking trail. The bones were found in Orange County in the area of Route 218 on Saturday, Oct. 15 on a trail in the town of Cornwall at Storm King State Park.  According to Cornwall Police Chief Todd Hazard, after the discovery, the department contacted the state park police as well as the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office for examination. The incident took place in the hamlet of Northampton near Riverhead in Wildwood Lake around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. According to Southampton Police Lt.
