Markes Day of Service on Saturday in honor of a Stamford boy who died from cancer. Kyle, who was a sixth-grader at Country School, died on Christmas Eve 2013 at the age of 11 after a 13-month battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Rare White Squirrel Spotted In Vicinity Of Stratford's Longbrook Park STRATFORD, Conn. -- Stratford residents Richard Pheneger and Tom Holehan have spotted a rare white squirrel in the vicinity of Stratford’s Longbrook Park. According to Pheneger: “We saw one a few years ago and then it just disappeared. Then within the last few weeks we saw it, or another one, but didn’t have our phones/cameras with us. Always prepared since then, we spotted it again today and photographed it in one of its trees. We hope it’s one of those good luck sightings for all of Stratford.”

Joe Gresko (D-Stratford) got a chance to play with Beau, one of 12 therapy animals that visited the State Capitol on Tuesday along with their handlers from three statewide organizations. The purpose of the visit Tuesday was to raise awareness of the importance of animals and the valuable impact therapy animals can have for people during times of trauma and crisis.
